There is one "commercial" for the SCA actually...

<Fade In>
<Camera Pans across a lake, and settles on a family of ducks swimming. Vivaldi's(?) Four Seasons [Spring] plays softly.>
<In Modern Cursive: 'A walk in the country...' scrolls onto the bottom of the screen in white letters>
Announcer: Ahhh, Virginia. But this is no ordinary walk through the countryside.
<Cue "The Lone Ranger Theme">
A column of armored fighters come charging down a woodland path, brandishing rattan swords. One carries much aloft a banner as they run.
<Cut Scene>
A view of single combat between two 'unarmored fighters'
<cut scene>
Full melee on a field, the crash of swords on shields, cries of glory and death.
<cut scene>
An archer puts a second arrow into the center of a hay-bail mounted round target.
<cut scene>
Sans helmet and guantlets, a grizzled and tired heav fighter takes a rest in the shade of a tree.
<cut scene>
A giant is legged by a much shorter opponent.
<cut scene>
A mustachioed marshall wearing a large brimmed brown hat stands to the side of an advancing shieldwall, on a black and yellow striped staff he leans.
<cut scene>
Two large (okay about 20 fighters each) units collide and spears reach forth to claim the first of the ravens' feast that day.
<cut scene>
Camera returns to the family of ducks, with the Pastoral of Vivaldi's Spring playing softly. "A walk in the country..." appears again. Below in a similar hand "Brought to you by the Society for Creative Anachronism"
..................
All this in about 45 seconds, shortly less time than it takes to prep a vcr when sitting 10 feet from it. But I believe a copy may be availible from AFRTS/AFN (Armed Forces Radio Telvision Services/Armed Forces Network), as it airs several times a month on that network. Ask your friends who are Mundanely Military who've been overseas in the past few years.

According to the Announcer, it was filmed here abouts. I seem to remember, and have recognized, the tabard of the tired fighter seen resting in the shade.
