For those of you who have not had the chance to read all the details about
this virus, there is one additional fact you need to know: This virus
copies itself into the Recycled bin, and propagates from there. Most virus
scanners are not set by default to scan the Recycled bin, so you need to go
into your program and turn that on!
While you're in there, make sure the software scans your email and
attachments, also.
Lastly, if you ever receive an attachment with two extensions, no matter
what the extensions are, the chances are that it's a virus. Don't open the
attachments. Delete the messages and the attachments from your email and
from its "trash/deleted items" folder. Check your email software directory
and delete the attachments, if necessary, from that directory and then from
the Recycled bin.
I may have some of the terms wrong in the above explanation, but the
important points are the Recycled bin and the double extensions. Good luck,
everyone!
