MOTHER OF FREAKING GOD PEOPLE!!!!
Please Attempt to Grow, Borrow or Steal a FREAKING Sense of FUN or
HUMOR!!!!
Seeing as many folks lack my sense of play lets get serious for a moment.
Aodhfionn au Diarmuid, bring your documentation and your foil to the field.
Show me. This is all I ask. Show me your Primary Source documentation that
this fact is true "The foil's weight and balance are in fact almost
exactly the same as an actual period rapier," Show me why the foil matches
the weight of your foil matches perfectly and my epee does not. I'll Bring
a copy of three Elizabethan masters with me. It has copies of all the wood
cut prints from three translated masters in it. Not Familiar with the term
"primary source documentation " Talk to your MOAS
If you'd get the list you note that I pointed out that while FOILS ARE
LEGAL. - FACT. I don't like them. - ONION. I Feel they are the most
DANGEROUS weapon that I have ever fought with in the SCA.- OPINION (BTW I
am authorized in ALL forms of Combat including Equestrian, with the
exception of archery and glave) My concern as a Marshal is they are
outweighed by the thicker, more common epee, being lighter they get a nicks
quickly and nicks lead to breaks. breaks lead to marshals reports, hurt
fighters, and more rules that is my concern as a marshal. Its a concern.
I DO NOT MAKE THE RULES. I am there to make sure that combat activities
happen in a sane, safe fashion. I prefer epees because they stand up
better to the type of play we do.
I'd also like to point out that the poor guy just asked where to get tips
for his blades has anyone else answered his question but me? Or have those
of you that choose to respond to this only had the time to ridicule me for
making a joke?
One more thing gooba, join the list before you post to it, bad form.
I look forward to reading your documentation.
Gaston
