[MR] St A...who??

I'd certainly like to see a full description of St
Aedan and why he's the patron of the order posted to
the merry rose.  I feel pretty secure we're not
talking about St. Aidan, of Lindisfarne, as he did not
die in battle!  Unless it was against those pesky
Vikings, but  I really don't think so...and I just
don't have time to look it up for myself.

Anyway, when the order was announced it was pronounced
St Aeth (spelling more like Aedh), and so, which is
it?  Are we using a celtic name pronounced correctly,
or a celtic name translated into period english, or a
celtic name translated into modern American?  (asking
just to be mischevious)
