There are two Saints with similar names, Aeden and Aidan. The first died
circa 632 and is the patron saint of the diocese of Ferns, Ireland. He
was also known by a variety of other names including, Mogue; Moedhog;
Aeddan Foeddog; Aidus; Hugh; Maedoc.

The second, St. Aidan, is also known as St. Aidan of Lindesfarne. He
founded the Lindisfarne monastary and died circa 651.

I remember His Majesty saying what Aedan was the patron saint of, but I
don't remember what that was. Perhaps His Lordship Falcone can tell us
as he is the Principal of the Order.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. I would thing that there are also
orders of St. Mark and St. Michael and those are used in the SCA for
fighting orders and no one to my knowledge has given it any thought. Of
course there are people who will get all up in arms at the drop of a
hat. I tend to ignore them as it only raises ones blood pressure to do
more. As a wise man once said, "It doesn't take all kinds, we just have
all kinds."

In service,
Corun
