STORVIK BARONIAL CHAMPIONSHIP
SEPTEMBER 21 - 23, 2001
HEAR YE! HEAR YE! The wheel of the year has turned
and the time approaches when the Brightest Light of
our Barony, Her Excellency, Johanna of Storvik,
invites the populace to gather and display their great
skill in various competitions for the right to
represent the Barony in Her Excellency's service.
Competitors and spectators are to join us on the field
at Marietta Mansion, 5626 Bell Station Road, Glenn
Dale, Maryland, for a weekend of diverse competitions
and revelry.
We of Storvik invite our friends from lands both
near and far to join us in this friendly competition
to test our skills against the best of the Known
World. To that end, all competitions and tournaments
are open all who desire to enter. In the realms of
Heavy Weapons, Rapier, Art & Sciences, Archery,
and Bardic Arts, we will recognize both our Baronial
Champion and an Overall Winner. Each Baronial Champion
will be made a member of her Excellency's court, and
in return is granted the privilege, honor and
responsibility of representing Baroness Johanna and
Storvik. Please consider, prior to entering, whether
you wish to become our Baronial Champion, and be
prepared to declare your intentions when entering the
competitions.

depicting fire, or utilizing fire. Examples of
possible entries include (but are not limited to)
lampworked beads, castings, lanterns, candles,
paintings depicting fire, metalsmithing or cooking.
Documentation is highly encouraged and will be
included in the judging; also be prepared to share how
fire pertains to your entry. The theme for our Bardic
competition will fire as depicted in word, deed and
song. Sing us your songs, and tell us your tales
reveling in the fires of Passion, Glory and Damnation.
Classes dealing with the theme of fire are planned for
Saturday - a schedule of classes will be posted to
the Storvik website one week prior to the event.
