the topic...

						EVENT FLYER

August 11, A.S. XXXVI
Being 2001 Gregorian

The Heralds Cry Loud!
The tide of war once again has washed upon the shores of our fair lands.
And even though many of the valiant warriors of our fair Kingdom must heed
the call to war, a stand must also be made to protect the wholesome lands
within our vast borders. Sharpen thy blades and ready thine armor, for even
though the mass of the noble forces of our realm travel north to meet the
call
to battle, the many remaining must also prepare for the possibility of the
battles reaching even to our very homes.

For the armored warriors.
Two tourneys will be held that the peoples of these lands may test
and hone their skills and abilities. The first of which will be, as in the
traditions of the past, an odd weapons list. In which only weapons that do
not fit into the normal categories (weapon/shield, great sword ect
) yet
meets the marshal's tests will be permitted on the field. The second list
will be open to any weapons form that is not weapon/shield. Both lists will
be double elimination.

For the Quick of blade.
Unto the noble Scholars of Atlantia is this test of ability
proposed. There will be a Swiss Five Tournament to test both your skill and
endurance! Each round will be best two out of three, but make sure to
sharpen
your wit along with your weapons in preparation for the days games, as your
clever mind may save you where your cunning blade cannot!

For the artisans.
Without the inspiration of the arts surely the arms of our skilled
combatants would not find the strength to raise their swords. So that we
all may bask in the knowledge and abilities of friend and neighbor, three
competitions are presented. The first of which will call upon the abilities
of craftsmanship, to create an object from the natural materials of wood,
metal, leather or fiber. The second competition will be a test of the
mind. To create an original song or poem with the theme of Kingdom or Barony
(your choice) that the bards may remember us within their tales forever. The
last competition will be open to any item German.
Even if your talents lean away from these, take heart as there will be an
open display so that all may take note of the many and varied abilities
of our Barony's most valued treasure, it's artisans.

General information.
Get ready to loosen your belt after the day's activities for we
will be honored with a delectable feast by our own Lady Jacattia Edington of
Yorkshire. Feast space is limited so send in your reservation early!
Once again, the site for the day will be Little John Community
Center in Clemson South Carolina.
Site opens at 9:00am and will close by 9:00pm
