Rules for King's Champion Tournament
Coronation of Galmr and Aryanna
September 8th
Beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The tournament will be a bear pit/Viking holmgang style prize tourney.

Rules are as follows:

There will be 2 - 4 small 9' X 9' areas that will serve as the fighting
areas.

Each fight is to "first blood"*

Blows will be exchanged one at a time with the person lower on the OP
throwing the first blow followed by a blow from his/her opponent until
someone is wounded.

The loser gives the winner a prize. **

If a fighter steps out of the bounds of the 9' X 9' area, they are
considered to be a "coward" and are out of the tourney.

Fighters may continue to fight as long has they have a prize to lose or
until the time allotted for the tourney has expired.

 Center grip shields are encouraged.

Swords are the preferred weapons. However, use of pole arms and axes will
be permitted.

* This may be slightly modified at HRM's discretion during the tourney. It
should be noted that "in period" these fights ended when blood flowed onto
the cloaks that the fighters were standing on.

** Contestants should bring 3 - 5 small prizes. (3 silver marks was the
traditional payment, so 3 silver coins are encouraged as prizes.) However,
glass beads, rings, arm rings and other such loot are also appropriate.
