[MR] Combat Archery opinion

 Hello good gentles,

     I just recently moved to this fair kingdom and am glad to be around
some of the nicest people I know. I came here from Trimaris. I have been
fighting now for about 3 years. Now I know  that there are those out there
who have been fighting longer and are more experienced, but I do have my 2
cents of experience too.   I have fought heavy weapons at 3 Gulf Wars, a
Lillies War, an Estrella War, and several large sized war practices that
included combat archery. I have never been hit in any fashion by a
'bounce-back' arrow that I am aware of and have never know anyone that has
been hit or injured by such an arrow. Atleast not so much as to make it into
the NSTIW stories: ) I do however have permanent nerve damage on my scalp
from a severe face thrust from a spear. The only permanent injury I have
received. This happened at Estrella. And at that following Gulf Wars I was
hit again in one of the skirmishes where they were allowing full force face
thrusts so much so that I was not able to go back on the field to fight the
rest of that day. And I was not alone that day. Several people were pulled
off of the field and the fighting was halted numerous times because of
injuries from extreme use of force. There was no stink made about the use of
excessive force. And no letter writing campaign or suggested changes made to
Society wide law. What I feel that people are forgetting is that this is a
game. And yes we are doing dangerous stuff in which people can and will get
hurt. Fighter and archers need to both take responsibilty for their actions
and the result thereof. And if people are going to make changes to
supposedly better things they need to make sure that they are indeed
bettering things. Solving one symptom does rid you of the disease. There are
more things than just combat arrows that need to be changed. And if you have
a 'strong opinion' about what I have said personally you are welcome to
write me privately.
