Yes and? When an event states that there are NO children's activities, and
parents bring them... it is the PARENTS who are still responsible for their
children. Period.
While SCA may be "child-friendly", it is still an organization of, by and for
adults. That means that the adults who have chosen to procreate and
participate (both voluntary, I will point out) also *need* to assume total
responsibility for the depth and breadth of their children's actions and
activities. If more childrens' activities are wanted at events, where are
the volunteers?
Children's activities are WAY too often used as "dumping grounds" by
oblivious parents who expect that for little to nothing, they have all-day
childcare. This is rude, ridiculous, and sure goes a long way to explaining
why it isn't easy to plan and staff events that do have kids' activities.
