I do not favor dividing the Merry Rose!
Several arguments have been advanced in favor of keeping the list as it is,
and I agree in general with all of them. I do not want to need to subscribe
to yet another list, and having a bit of chat and a bit of humor on the list
keeps it from being dull. And if someone's sense of humor doesn't coincide
with mine, I roll my eyes and skip to the next message.
As for seneschals sending out official information to local lists, does every
group have a local list? Is every seneschal equipped to do that sort of
duty? We've become so "wired" that it's easy to assume that EVERYONE's
online.
It ain't necessarily so.
You know, I've often reflected on how paradoxical it is, that a
Mediaeval/Renaissance group like us are so dependent on the internet.
(Did I get the right number of N's and S's in Rennaissannce? Reminds me of
the sailor writing a letter and asking a shipmate "How many apostrophes in
fo'c's'le"?)
