Milord, perhaps you need to review the Merry Rose policies.  It is rude to 
publicly post someone else's email without their permission, and I am sure 
Kevin of Thornbury & Rabah (society officers for communications & web) can 
give you more information on the legality of it, ie copyright laws, etc.

If a person chooses to respond privately, that is *their* choice, not yours.  
Your posting of that individual's email, intact no less, to the Merry Rose 
not only gets into possible legal consequences, but also defies the ideals of 
this Society and dream.

In regards to the actual comic strip and the person who commented their 
distaste, the situation of the cartoon is specific to the strip, and he or 
she had no prior knowledge of said strip and its jokes.
