    Iqbal Masih was a 12-year-old Pakistani boy who spoke out against
Pakistan's child labor practices after escaping from 6 years of servitude as
a carpet weaver at age 10. He was shot to death on this date in 1995,
reportedly by the "carpet Mafia."
