Greetings to the populace of Atlantia,

I have received several inquiries from both groups and
individuals about what exactly the Atlantian
Privateers are, and (OK this is the most common
question) how one becomes a Privateer.

The Atlantian Privateers are the Kingdom's first line
of defense on the high seas.  Because they operate
independently, they must carry with them people of
many different skills and talents.  Their Majesties
recognize this and want both the fighters and those
that support them to be actively involved.

As such, any person can become a privateer merely by
participating in Privateer activities at an event. 
Your first chance will be at Night on the Piazza this
weekend.  But your biggest chance will be at Atlantian
20 year.

I am encouraging groups of people to participate.  The
best way to do this is probably to get together decide
that you are a "crew" and pick a name for your "ship".
 Her Majesty is particularly interested in those
Baronies that have an interest in fielding a crew, and
I know that a couple of households are discussing
fielding a crew.  I would think that crews that excel
on the battlefield and elsewhere will draw Her
Majesties notice and favor...

This weekend's activities will be limited to rapier
melees.  However, keep an eye on this list, because I
will be posting information on the Atlantian 20 year
activities later today.

For those wondering, there will be "favors" that will
allow you to tell the world to tremble before you, for
you are an Atlantian Privateer.  Also, Her Majesty has
agreed to allow both ships and encampments of
Privateers to fly the new Atlantian Privateer flag,
which will be unveiled this weekend at Night on the
Piazza.
