Frederik -

It's very easy to fall into the Viking stereotypes when making clothing.  
Don't do this!  Where do you live?  There are Vikings scattered around the 
kingdom that can help you.

If you search the web for "Carolyn Priest-Dorman" you will find some useful 
web sites by this knowledgable lady.

If you will be at Coronation, Ana Ilevna and I are teaching a class on 
Viking Apron-dresses.  After the class, we can answer questions about Viking 
men's costume as well.

First rule of fibers in fabric--make sure none of them are synthetic.  
Synthetics are colder, hotter and more flamable than natural fibers.  I 
always recommend people stick to cotton, linen, hemp, wool or silk for 
safety and comfort reasons.

With an added advantage that they're more authentic, too!
