Well said Melchoir....
To add my additional 1 cents worth, sense most of my sentiment has been
covered before... I think an important question was who is going to
determine what is dangerous activity and not. Though I have not looked
this up, but I strongly suspect that statistically there are a far greater
number of people injured in their automobiles on the way to and from work
then what occurs on all SCA event fields in any given year.
I will give as an example, combining both equestrian and sca at the recent
war in the gulf I know of 3, maybe 4 injuries that were suffered in those
fields during the week. I think that there may have been one that had a
person taken off sight in an ambulance which probably resulted in some
medical expenses. In the 2 weeks that I have been at home, during my daily
commute I have seen numerous accidents with vehicles and police officers
present and at least 3 of those had an ambulance present. Now as I was
just passing I don't know how many were taken to the hospital, but I also
don't know how many of those were cases where the paramedics were still in
route, as I was just passing by. And bear in mind, the very fact that the
ambulance was there results in an expense incurred.
Just my thoughts on such a silly idea when put in context.
