Sir Ramses the Reasonably Great send greetings,
I hope that this missive finds you in robust health and a strong arm.
For you will need a strong arm to carry the wealth I often shower
upon sub-commanders who bring me a pre-trained cadre of troops.
First let me give you the standard pay for your men.
Sir Ramses the Reasonably Good is a generous
employer who believes that each individual merits
pay based upon performance. However, realizing
that you have never worked with Sir Ramses tRG
before and thus your performance is unknown Sir Ramses
has magnanimously decided upon blanket payment. For Each knight
that you capture and subsequently ransom you will receive
one third of the ransom price. For every five horses you capture
you may keep one. If you are unable to capture any knights
Sir Ramses tRG has decided that one gold piece will be paid to you
(or your family if you do not survive the engagement).
Yes, you heard correctly, one gold piece, regardless of performance!
This will be paid upon your signing up with Sir Ramses tRG. Let us
also not forget that there is the possibility of sacking, burning,
and looting....and maybe even some pillaging!!!
Plus other wonderful benefits that
strong men (or women) may be able
to seize and wrest to the ground.
Now as to bonus pay for commanders,
for every ten men provided Sir Ramses
tRG will pay an extra gold piece and
give two mugs of ale per man plus four
mugs for the commander. Also as Sir
Ramses tRG has a fondness for archers
and will provide them with an additional silver
piece each. Realizing that a cadre as large
as yours will have non-combat support, such
as washer-woman, Sir Ramses tRG will provide
delicacies of fresh fruit and chocolate for their enjoyment.
