Subject: [MR] Coronation Courts of Havordh & Mary-Grace, 7 April, AS
XXXV, 2001
Greetings Atlantia from Lord Michael Batcok, Triton Principal Herald, on
behalf of their Royal Majesties Havordh and Mary-Grace on this pleasant
April
evening.
As the passing of the old day brings the dawning of a new day, so too did
the
end of the reign of Anton and Emer begin the reign of Havordh and
Mary-Grace.
Having received the Crowns of Atlantia and the fealty of the Great Officers
of State, the Landed Baronage, and the Peers of the Realm, it was their new
Majesties' pleasure to conduct a court that balmy morning, and the following
honors were conferred:
Herald - Lord Michael Batcok
Baroness Emer ny Reyly - Elevation to the Estate of Countess
Countess Emer ny Reyly - Created a Lady of the Rose
Lady Isle von Brenner - Golden Dolphin
Lord Michael Batcok - Golden Dolphin
Arlen of Hancock - Hippocampus
Eoghan O'Ruadhain - Award of Arms
Lady Karen Larsdatter - King's Award of Excellence
Countess Adelicia of Cumbria - Pearl
Tristain von Swartzwald - Award of Arms
Lisette la Roux - Award of Arms
and the Page's Academy of Atlantia inducted Elise as a new member
After the court their Majesties sat in state and enjoyed a day of
tournaments
in the warm spring sun. The evening turned pleasantly cooler and their
Majesties conducted a second court for the day where the following business
was conducted:
Herald - Lord Michael Batcok
Lady Beatrice le Grave presented her Majesty Mary-Grace with the
handkerchief
crafted by the Guild of Arachne's Web.
The following waterbearers for the tournament fields were given tokens of
appreciation: Lady Franasca, Nikita, Eleanor, Morgwen, Chris, Tara ingen
Conan.
Lady Jamie de Javaudan received the prizes for the most beautiful scroll in
the competition and the largest number of scrolls entered.
Lady Jamie de Javaudan was then inducted into the Order of the Pearl.
Master Tristan Alexander was inducted into the Order of the Golden Dolphin.
Kharstin von Werner was given a Grant of Arms.
Maura McPharlin was given an Award of Arms.
The Page's Academy of Atlantia inducted Kimberly as a new member
Their Majesties announced their champions: Sir Kiegan Broussard as King's
Champion and Baroness Isobel Bedingfield as Queen's Champion.
Baroness Genevieve d'Aquitain was inducted into the Order fo the Pearl.
Lord Nikolai Dmitri Aidanov Dolgorukova was inducted into the Queen's Order
of Courtesy.
Duchess Seonaid ni Fhionn received the long delayed (20 years + several
days)
County scroll for Duke Michael of Bedford.
A Letter of Marque for the newly commissioned Atlantian Privateers was read*
and Lord Finuriag (I appologize for the slaughter of your name) was
appointed
as Lord Admiral for the duration of the reign.
Their Majesties welcomed the newcommers to the Society
The preceeding items were conducted, to the best of my memory, in the order
presented.
During that evening's feast, their Majesties presented one further honor for
the day:
The head cook for the feast, McGregor, received a Silver Nautilus for the
cooking she presided over that day, and for the many feasts that she had
prepared in the past.
This report is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge.
Please forward any corrections to me at: Batcok at aol.com.
Lord Michael Batcok
* The text of the Letter of Marque is as follows:
Let all know that Their Majesties Havordh and Mary-Grace, King and Queen of
Atlantia, being credibly informed that diverse and many of their most
loving,
and obedient subjects inhabiting upon the sea costs, using traffic by sea,
and diverse others, be very desirous to prepare and equip sundry ships and
vessels at their own costs and charges to the sea for the annoyance of thier
Majesties's enemies. So as these loyal subjects might obtain license in
that
behalf, hath, of their clemency, tender love, and zeal, which they beareth
to
their subjects, by the advice of Their most honorable counsel resolved and
determined as hereafter followeth:
First his Majesty is pleased to, and by the authority hereof giveth full
power and license to all and singular, his subjects of all sorts, degrees,
and conditions, that they and every of them, at their liberties, without
incuring any loss, danger, forfeiture, or penalty, prepare and equip to the
seas ships and vessels furnished for the war, to be used and empolyed
against
their Majesties enemies, as can be found within the borders of their
Baronies, provided always that no man which shall go to the sea by virtue
hereof presume to take any thing from any of his Majesty's subjects, or from
any man having their Majestie's safeconduct, upon the pains by their
Majesty's laws provided for the same.
And, seeing now that it hath pleased his Majesty, of his most gracious
goodness, to grant unto all his subjects this great liberty, his Majesty
desireth all Barons, Baronesses, and subjects of this realm to gather and
field at the Atlantian 20 Year Celebration those crews who are willing and
able to train and practice to this goal under the flag of the Atlantian
Privateers.
And, seeing that such enthusiastic service should well be rewarded, all
those
who participate at the 20 Year Celebration, and at other times during Their
reign will be given safe conduct to the Atlantian Privateer party, hosted by
Her Majesty, Mary-Grace, on a day to be named at the Great Pennsic War XXX.
Know also that thier Excellencies Lochmere, have asked and been given leave
to grant time and space at their event, the Night on the Piazza, so that
those subjects who would take up arms in this cause may gather and practice
under said flag.
And, knowing well his experience in these matters, and having been assured
by
many of our subjects of his prowess and good temperment, we do name Lord
Finuriag as Lord Admiral during our reign, to ensure that all subjects
acting
under this Letter of Marque do so within the spirit of this Letter and
within
the laws of this great Kingdom.
