COG I don’t think it is fair to assume all of the marshals in Atlantia have seen a string like this. I have been in archery since I was 9 and I honestly can’t say I have until I was sent the picture. Even our new loaner bows we purchased did not have a string like this. So this is why I posted this topic for discussion and to hopefully get the word out. I would hope most of our marshal’s also understand what a bowyers knot is and what it is used for and not fail those! The knots I was referring too were the actual strands of the string tied into knots repairing damage. I too have several in my loaner gear kit which are very light weight, maybe 10 to 15 pound pull. I did once see one of these on a higher pound bow and I too failed it. Those crimps are iffy and can slip easily. Also if you look closer that is not even a correct bow string. It looks like the nylon that bow stringers are made from and those materials are nowhere near as strong as B50 or Fast flight materials and should never be allowed. We rejected a few bows this year at Pennsic that had these same type of strings. None of us will ever be able to predict how long a sting of nylon would last?
