--></style><div class="ecxWordSection1"><p class="ecxMsoNormal">My Brothers and Sisters of the Bow, errr Atlatl too <span style="font-family:Wingdings;">J</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoNormal">After much consideration, reviewing all of the data and feedback from all of you I am pleased to announce our first draft of the Atlatl rules for Atlantia. I want to point out the following right up front:</p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">1.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>These rules will be in an “Evaluation period” for 12 months so we can assure they are correct and supportive of our entire community. If they need to be adjusted we can and will do that as the need arises.</p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">2.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Scores will be provisional for this first year, if we agree the rules and scoring is acceptable we can let them stand at the end of the 12 month trial period.</p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">3.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>We will address any issues and have a discussion at Unevent about this first set of rules, if need be.</p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoNormal">Rules for Atlatl</p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">1.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>There will be 4 ends in an Atlatl round. 20 yards, 20 yards timed (30 seconds), 30 yards, 40 yards</p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">2.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Throwers will have 6 darts per end</p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">3.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>The official Atlatl target will be the 120cm target placed either on a backer on the ground or on an archery target butt. No higher than 1 foot from the ground.</p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">4.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Scoring will be 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 for the consecutive rings vise the 5,4,3,2,1 as in archery. This will allow for better granularity for throwers.</p><p class="ecxMsoListParagraph" style="text-indent:-.25in;"><span style="">5.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span></span>Rankings will be: Novice, Thrower, Marksman, Hunter, Hunter Elite and Grand Hunter Elite</p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"> </p><p class="ecxMsoNormal">I want to sincerely thank everyone for participating in this effort.
