<body class='hmmessage'><div dir='ltr'>My first set of bolt caps came from Yumi, and they're great, and very easy to use, with minimal additional weight added. But they has a small lip, since they fit over the end of the bolt. As Janyn said, Elkridge also sells them, but they're tapered on the inside, which means tapering your bolt ends. I've had limited success, even with the Woodchuck taperer, getting a decent match up on these. But they're made of aluminum, are super-light, and I has visible proof on a few that they've stopped my bolts from being Robin-hooded.<div>I have not seen much in the way of string jumping from either style of cap, and they certainly extend the life of my bolts! I plan on using them as long as they are available.</div><div><br></div><div>Reyne<br><br><div><div id="SkyDrivePlaceholder"></div><hr id="stopSpelling">From: ggg9y@virginia.edu<br>To: archers@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org<br>Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2013 16:42:23 +0000<br>Subject: [Archers] Bolt caps<br><br>

as you would when inserting a horn reinforcement in a period arrow. I think something like a cap would be needed to make the bolt safe to shoot, given the force put on the end by the string.</p>
