I could be wrong but I think thatis why they call them peers. I would notaccept a subset archery peerage from a knight. While they may be capable of judging those commonalities that cross thethree peerages, they aren't as a group, "archers". If the archers can’t policetheir own group’s honor, than they shouldn't be a peerage in the first place.<o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p></div><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='color:black'>The people of the society spoke in the survey and themajority said we should have an archery peerage. The peers spoke and the majority decided weshouldn’t. The society leadership, whichI suspect is very highly represented with peers, decided to go with theminority. In their elucidation of whythey made rapier a peerage you could easily replace rapier with archery and noone would have noticed the difference. What the peers as a group has done they must live with as I live with myactions. I suspect that they feel theyhave not committed an injustice and see no besmirching of their honor. Perhaps they are right in this. But as someone who judges people by their actionsrather than their words, I see them as the little boy looking at the Emperor inhis new clothes. So while I can listmany peers who I admire and they aren't all archers. I would find ithard to find the same admiration for them as a group. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='color:black'>I am an archer. I will continue to pursue both my archery skill, ability and knowledge. I will use these attributes to help others become better archers. And I will continue to try to make the society a better place. I didn't spend four years as a landed Baron because I like wearing metal hats. Nor do I pursue leather-work to get a seashell with a pearl in it. The same goes for my Dolphin. Having peers tell me I am not equal affects my behavior about as much as having a fly on my arm keeps me from pulling my bow. Now lets get off this peerage thing and go loose some arrows.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='color:black'>In service to the Ideal, <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='color:black'>Colum, <o:p></o:p></span></p><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p></div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>On 03/08/12, <a href="mailto:archers-request@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org">archers-request@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org</a> wrote:<o:p></o:p></span></p><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>Send Archers mailing list submissions to<br><a href="mailto:archers@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org" target="_blank">archers@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org</a><br><br>To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit<br><a href="http://seahorse.atlantia.sca.org/listinfo.cgi/archers-atlantia.sca.org" target="_blank">http://seahorse.atlantia.sca.org/listinfo.cgi/archers-atlantia.sca.org</a><br><br>or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to<br><a href="mailto:archers-request@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org" target="_blank">archers-request@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org</a><br><br>You can reach the person managing the list at<br><a href="mailto:archers-owner@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org" target="_blank">archers-owner@seahorse.atlantia.sca.org</a><br><br>When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific<br>than "Re: Contents of Archers digest..."<br><br><br>Today's Topics:<br><br>1.
