Giving archers thier own peerage does not fix the basic perception that some of us view what we do is not "good enough".  <br><br>You are are good enough. You've always been good enough.<br><br>Your service to the archery community is the EXACTLY kind of service the Pelicans look for.<br>
The Arts AND Sciences of Historic Archery are EXACTLY the sorts of topics the Laurels look for.<br><br>Pardon me,  but our Seamus McRay this very past weekend recieved the Kingdom Level Service Award, The Golden Dolphin, specifically for his service to ARCHERY. <br>
<br>Getting an Archery/Seige specific Peerage changes nothing if the archery community does not treat itself with more respect - A Peer of the Society is held to a MUCH higher benchmark. Your work must be more prolific. Your research must be there. The Peerages look for a BODY of work. They look for SUCCESS at your service efforts. It will be just as challenging to become an Archery Peer as any other peer.<br>
<br>An autocrat may run a zillion events but if they do so poorly. No order or crown will elevate them. <br>A cook may head a zillion feasts but if they are a poor cook or constantly go over budget, they get no recognition.<br>
<br>Yes, gathering the information about someone does take a bit of effort. But you don't have to report EVERYTHING a person has done. Maybe you were at an event and were very impressed with someone. Maybe they made something for archers you were impressed with. Recommend the based on that experience. <br>
<br>You like making period archer widgets? Be sure to put it out for display with a little research paper.<br><br>You want recognition or see friends get recognised for what you love? Then quite belly achin' and get crackin'.<br>
<br>I challenge everyone by the end of this weekend to write one meaningful letter of recommendation to the Crown.<br><br>I also challenge the archer of Atlantia to have a display table at Crown Tournament of archery equipment they have made. I'll even walk the walk and volunteer to arrange for the table and then man it all day. Send me an email and I'll even help you write a short form documentation for your display.<br>
