<pre style="font-size: 9pt;"><tt>I have a habit of inspecting my archery tackle on a regular basis. The other
day I noticed the nock loops were starting to look worn. I decided the string
needed replacing. Besides I keep an extra string in my bowcase. However, with
this and that, I decided it would last a couple more weeks. That was self
inflicted bad luck. While shooting The bow jumped in my hand upon release and
the string was laying on the ground. Now for the good luck. The arrow was
sticking in the bull which means that the string broke at the end of the shot
thus sparing the bow any damage. Then of course I learned that the spare
bowstring was for a much shorter bow. Oh well, life it tough but it is tougher
if your an idiot.
The lesson of course is to a) inspect your equipment and b) pay attention to
what you find. I let other commitments stop me from taking action on what I had
found. That was dumb. Even if I don't have time to fix it I could have changed
bows. (One of the reasons I will usually have two bows at an event.) - Colum

Thank you Lord Mungo for pointing out that I wrote the wrong time for the
archery meeting. It is indeed 4:00 PM not 5:00 pm

M'lady Lorelei,
Isn't our meeting scheduled for 4 p.m.? That's the way it is in the
ACORN, and on the current schedule on the Unevent web site.
Please tell me it hasn't been changed.
Inquiring minds want to know.
