As the rules are written now, that is correct.  One of the reasons I wanted to become a target archery marshal was so we (the equestrian marshals) did not need to round up a target marshal for us to do mounted archery.  The other reason is so I can run an official practice in the northern part of our barony.  </div>

<div>I did mounted archery as a demo some years ago, but have not yet authorized for it.  It is a real challenge.  You have to time your release based on the movement of the horse.  I was happy when I just hit a target.  I didn't care what ring I hit.  Keeping an arrow nocked was difficult too.</div>

<div>I have not ridden since I tore up my shoulder and hip in a riding mishap last year.  After Pennsic I visited my surgeon again and he now tells me my hip is shot and I need a hip replacement.  Hip replacements and riding do not go well together.  Still, I would love to get my authorization for mounted archery.  It is almost as much fun as jousting and nearly as much of a challenge.</div>
