Atlantian archers,<br>
I have been working with our fellow archers from the south to create an<br>
archery only event along the lines of SAAD and Needwood (which should<br>
probably be called NAAD. HEY! How about Needwood Atlantian Archery Day<br>
= NAAD?). They have taken the bait and accepted the name I have<br>
suggested for their event Trimaris Archery Day or TAD. (Thus if we have<br>
a SAAD and a TAD we could also have a NAAD.) Lakeland Florida is<br>
central Florida, west of Orlando, east of Tampa. If you can support our<br>
fellow archers of the south they would greatly appreciate it and could<br>
use the encouragement. Archery is growing in Trimaris with great<br>
enthusiasm. They still have a long way to go though so any<br>
encouragement from "the kingdom of archers" (that would be Atlantia)<br>
would be greatly appreciated.<br>

Greetings unto the great populace of Trimaris and beyond,<br>
<br>
This missive is to inform the populace that the Kingdom has a new event<br>
scheduled for August 28th, 2010 in Lakeland Florida. This event is an<br>
Archery Only event, called Trimaris Archery Day or TAD. <br>
Other kingdoms to the north have had good results with their kingdom<br>
archery days and that is what inspired me to start an event down here in<br>
Trimaris. Please cross post this to any groups you feel would be<br>
interested in attending this event.<br>
<br>
The event will be held at Tenoroc Shooting sports complex. This is a<br>
commercial shooting range with Archery ranges, rifle, and pistol, and<br>
shotgun 5-stand, and sporting clay ranges. The fee to shoot on the<br>
archery range will be 15.00. This is in addition to the site fee of<br>
7.00, which is used to pay for the portable restrooms, and the free<br>
lunch food. Please pre-register or rsvp so we can be sure to have enough<br>
food on hand. This is a dry site, and no alcohol will be allowed while<br>
on the range. <br>

The Archery range is located in the woods, and its nice and shady,<br>
however because it is wooded we must prepare take measures to keep the<br>
insects off of us. Mosquitos, ticks, and spiders will be joining us on<br>
the range I am sure, so please bring bug spray!, Please bring any<br>
medical items you might need for an accidental sting or bite. there is<br>
limited seating on the ranges so please bring something to sit upon.<br>
Pavilions and Pop-up shelters will be allowed so if you wish to bring<br>
your own shade and comfort items I would like to encourage you to bring<br>
your medieval pavilions, and try to leave the mundane stuff at home.<br>

There will be Target Archery, Combat Archery Range(only no fighting),<br>
Thrown Weapons, and Siege Engines. This is a kingdom war (missile only)<br>
practice. <br>
<br>
The Target Archery range will have ranges up to 90 yards, a Royal Round,<br>
Novelty shoots, and a 3D animal walk thru the woods hunt to game for<br>
feast. Some loaner archery equipment will be provided, as will some<br>
youth archery equipment for those wishing to learn to shoot. The 3D walk<br>
thru range will be set up so that the archer MUST be stealthy and<br>
accurate. Only one shot per target will be allowed, and if you are noisy<br>
you may scare the game, and you will not be allowed to shoot that<br>
target. Rangers will measure the noise you make and determine if you<br>
have been stealthy enough to approach the target and shoot. This will be<br>
an extremely difficult range to shoot, testing all your archery skills.<br>
Remember you are hunting game for feast, and animals have keen senses so<br>
we will be trying to mimic this as much as possible. The winner will be<br>
the one who scores the highest number of animals shot.<br>

A combat archery range will be set up to test your CA skills. Please<br>
bring your own CA equipment or borrow from your friends, NO loaner gear<br>
will be provided. CA Archers shooting for scores/completion will need to<br>
be in armor per the SCA/Kingdom standards to shoot in the competition.<br>
Others wishing to use the range not shooting for score, may when<br>
available, use the range for fun, without the armor requirements<br>
<br>
Siege Engines will have a little more than half a football field with<br>
which to practice and compete in contests (providing we get enough<br>
engines to compete).<br>
<br>
Thrown weapons targets will be set up for Knife, Axe, and spear throwing<br>
and a royal round will also be run for score. There will be some thrown<br>
weapon loaner equipment available for use.<br>

Prizes and or scrolls will be awarded for winners of each contest.<br>
<br>
Vendors will be allowed to merchant at the site, so long as there are no<br>
firearm related items for sale. Please contact me if would like to vend<br>
at this event. There is no fee to merchant, just pay the site fee.<br>
Because lunch is free, there should be no need for food vendors, however<br>
you are still allowed to vend if you wish.<br>

Camping is not allowed on site, so I have made arrangements with a local<br>
camping/rv resort nearby for a group rate. The Lakeland RV resort<br>
located nearby has tent sites for a group rate of $17.00 They have a<br>
swimming pool, spa, stocked fishing lake, game room, snack bar, shower<br>
and restroom facilities. Mention the Trimaris Archers to get the group<br>
rate. The camp site has a community bon-fire pit, so if we get enough<br>
folks we could have a bardic circle. This is a commercial site, and<br>
drinking is allowed, in moderation of course. <br>
