Lord Christophe,<br>

Good points. I would like the idea of having our own list if the group
grows large enough. As long as it's small, and if the regular members
on the archers' list don't mind, we should probably stay here for now.
It would also be cool to have a home page with contact information and
maybe some graphics, especially if it is linked to the Kingdom A&S
pages (since Atlantian archery pages don't lend themselves to this at
the present time).<br>

Yes, there will always be lurkers, contributors who don't do much, and
people who get excited then quickly lose interest. As along as we have
a good core, no problem. If just a few of the less excited catch fire
(so to speak), then it is worth carrying everyone. There definitely
won't be any criteria to be a member beyond the usual web courtesies.<br>

Subject to approval by the June University autocrat, I propose to set
up a table during the lunch hour to show off some of Lady Sarah's and
my arrows, maybe fletch a few shafts, and generally talk up arrow
building. Should anyone wish to share the table, and bring their own
work, wonderful. It would be a great way to make new friends, recruit
new fletchers, and promote archery in general. This is something we
could all do at various tournaments, especially those with a strong
archery agenda.<br>

Kind regards,<br>

liking this idea. I would suggest we have our own Yahoo list to
converse on, although we all know the archers list could use the
traffic! I think if we had our own Yahoo list then we could possibly
consider opening it up to other traditional but non SCA folks. Just a
thought. I'm thinking of a list I'm on of primitive archers in
Michigan. While they attempt period reenactment, they are not SCA.
Some of them will be in attendance at SAAD through my prodding.</font></span></div>

issue I do have with the group though is membership. While I am not a
big fan of strict criteria for membership to guilds I do rankle at
those who join things like this for the "apparent" status but do
nothing to contribute. Cookie collectors is what they are called.
Having said that, I foresee some joining the guild for one of it's
prime reasons, to learn. As such, when they first come in they may not
be significant contributors and I think that is fine. It's what the
guild is about. BUT I would like to see them do more than just lurk on
the list. A comment here and there, questions, suggestions, "why don't
we do it this way...". Activity. I just feel if you are going to
"wear the badge" then you represent something that you should be an
active, contributing member of. Not someone who calls themself a
member but does nothing and is not active.</font></span></div>
