Atlantian marshals,An incident occurred at Tourny of the Foxes, a Meridian event that has relevance to all of us.  The event was held just outside Chattanooga a few weeks ago, thus, VERY hot weather! The MIC had provided bow racks where the bows were suspended horizontally between two pegs. No issues there in fact, nice bow racks. The issue was that the bow racks were located in the sun. One individual had left his bow on the rack skipping a few rounds. He then stepped to the line and shot a quiver full. As he stepped back from the line he commented that his bow felt strange. Upon inspection it was noticed that a very small hair line crack had formed on the front of the bow near the handle. He then put it back in the bow rack wherein we all noticed that the upper limb had a much steeper curve than the lower limb. Upon closer inspection it was determined that the limb had begun to delaminate. In short, leaving his bow in the ver hot sun, i.e. in the bow rack provided, caused the bow to over heat and break. After this, the bow racks were moved to the shade.
So heads up, locate your bow racks in the shade in this very hot weather.
