Howdy All!

So I read through this and I was wondering - it doesn't list a specific age and refers to looking up the age of maturity. How would we find out what the age of maturity is for a given area?

Or would it be safe to assume that say minors who have not reached 16 years of age cannot be without their parents??

Subject: [Archers] Minors on the Range

It has come to my attention at the recent WOW event the SCA minor rules are still in question. The SCA clearly states in the Society Policies Affecting Youth "http://yafa.sca.org/society-policies-affecting-youth" that no person(s) that qualify as a youth can participate in any activities without a parent or legal gardian present.

" Parents or guardians of minors shall have ultimate responsibility for the welfare and behavior of their children at all times. It is the responsibility of the adult who brings a minor to an event to ensure that the minor is safe and not in danger. At events and activities in which youth participate in any way, participating minors must either have a parent or legal guardian present at the event/activity, or an adult present in possession of a properly executed "Medical Authorization Form for Minors." This Medical Authorization Form must designate an adult present at the event or activity as able to authorize medical treatment in the case of emergency (a form of temporary guardianship)."

So remember this is part of our job to make sure we are not in violation of this rule.

With any questions about this please contact me directly with any questions or concerns.
