Fen, I completely disagree with you and I think you are out of line. Amos
has always supported archery in my opinion and if you are so offended don't
offer. I would also ask that comments like this not be posted in the archery
list, I don't do drama and want to keep our energy positive.

Count Amos le Pious is looking for a marshal run archery at Ruby Joust, May
23rd-26th, Amelia VA.

Yes, the was the sitting King who compared archery & rapier to "underwater
basket weaving". And now he needs help, so we'll take it up the ass and do
the right thing, as always.

So, Archery Marshal needed. May 23rd-26th.

Site opens Friday 4pm, closes Monday 1pm

I'm happy to run this or assist someone else. I also live about 20
minutes from the site if that helps. Like Janyn says targets are the
issue. I can come up with some flat targets, backstops and target
stands, but don't have anything that's more elaborate. Does anyone have
something handy?

My brother's and sisters of the bow, I implore you to come to these fine
gentle's aid.

I have run the archery range at Ruby for the last five years and know that
many people have enjoyed the shoot, fighting is all well and good but come
one, archery will always be better. I am unable this year to run the range
which saddens me deeply but alas, life must take precedence. I will say
though that the past five years I have run the Gem Joust range I have always
had shade and beverage and even snacks (plus during site clean up day we
dust for ticks!), which many of you know is something very hard to get where
they usually put us (even for other events as we are so often put so far
away from everything) and I've never run out of water which being so far
from point is a good thing. They take care of their marshals and aid them
when they can. I will be on site for the event and plan on shooting (yay!)
and would be happy to assist if needed. It pains me that I can not help my
barony in their time of need but I also know there are those capable of
holding this event which
is so greatly loved in my stead.

For range information (location, general information) I would recommend
contacting count Amos or his lady the autocrat. They like us don't want to
see this aspect of the event canceled and I know I've done what I can to try
and save archery at events where I can and I know I'm not the only one who
would be greatly saddened to see this be canceled off the schedule for one
of the bigger events of the season.

Thank you Leofric for your offer. In past years if targets are a problem
each group has offered to bring one or two. Im sure we could all chip in if
you need it. I have included Sir Otto on this email so he knows you will be
the MIC for Archery. Also don't hesitate to ask any of us for help during
the day, there will be plenty of marshals in attendance. I am willing to
help you as well.

In Service,

Janyn
