Agreed. Some in person creative session would be the best to get this moving again. Should we set some time to talk about this at War of the Wings, SAAD? Another time?

I'm all about getting a KWAC shoot rolling and I think Pennsic is the place as most every kingdom is there. The real issue I see is advertising it about a year out so all can make plans and choices for attending. Maybe we need a "brain trust" meeting about this.

In my book never! Also it is friends like you that make running these kinds of shoots so easy!

Also I forgot to mention another topic. Some of you came to me about trying to morph the shoot into a “Lochmere” type shoot at Pennsic. After a ton of discussion with my advisors, I have decided that I am not in favor of morphing St. Sebastian’s into something it was not designed to be. My vision was a shoot for the populous to showcase Atlantia archery. What we were discussing was more along the lines of the known world championship which I am still very much in favor for and will support all day long, just not at the St. Sebastian’s shoot. Mistress Lorelei, COG and myself started the KWAC ball rolling 3 years ago now but it has been slow in gaining momentum unfortunately. Maybe it is time to try again?

Janyn and everyone else,
Simple question – When it is EVER wrong to show the known world what archery in Atlantia is all about? I had several folks say to me during the shoot “You guys put on the best shoot” or “I look forward to this every year”. Of course I told them they needed to come to SAAD but I’m a shameless salesman…………. But the comments folks made told me this is worth tugging on a line all day for the enjoyment of others (my target was the advancing tiger). I say a seriously loud HUZAH! To the Atlantian archery community for doing this year after year and to Janyn, who needs the name of a really good mental doctor for doing this over and over, for organizing all of us and doing the amazing things he pulls together to make this shoot happen. While I may be moving out of kingdom next year I will ALWAYS have my archer heart in Atlantia. Thank you all for allowing me to share and be part. THIS is what this silly club is about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening my Brothers and Sisters of the bow. Now that we are back from Pennsic and somewhat unpacked I wanted to take a minute to report on this year’s shoot. Since there was no mention of any Atlantian archery during court, I wanted to get the word out to you all.

Firstly I want to say a big “Thank you” again to everyone that helped with the shoot. It was greatly successful and now we have our 4th year of this event under our collective belts. There is rumor that next year the Aethelmarc archers want to split the shoot with us and provide marshals and target stations, I will still run the overall shoot. I will coordinate with them over the winter to see if this comes to fruition or not?

This year we had 267 registered archers and another 21 that did not compete for a total of 288 archers. This is a wonderful amount considering it falls on the middle Saturday when many are still arriving and setting up their camps. I will continue to push to try to move it to Sunday if we can. We had 38 Atlantian marshal’s helping out during the day and another 10 or so from the Middle, Aethelmarc and the East. There were a total of 13 target stations. Atlantian archers donated over $350 of their own money to 14 gift certificate awards.

Lady Esa provided a great spread of snacks and lemonade for our marshals and Mistress Martelle and Lady Tsura provided the belt favors again this year for our helping marshals. I provided the pewter cast “spikes” for all marshals as well. Lord Godai coordinated the gift certificates again this year for me.

We have now passed the 1,000 archers mark for this shoot. I am extremely proud of you all and I could never pull this shoot off without all of you that give your time, energy and hearts for this shoot. Even though it was not mentioned by our Monarchs, it is not forgotten by me and I will do everything in my power to assure it gets the recognition it deserves!

I am eternally grateful to you all for the continued help!
