Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Archers:

Today, 25 October, is St. Crispin's Day. This day in 1415 saw 5,000 dysentery-ridden English archers and 1,000 men at arms under King Henry V destroy a 30,000 man French army at the Battle of Agincourt. By choosing his ground carefully in what today would be called a "force multiplier", coupled with his archers, Henry was able to even the odds. Over French 10,000 squires, knights, counts, and dukes died in the three-hour battle, along with perhaps another 10,000 nameless infantrymen. English losses were a little over 100.

You can read about the battle at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Agincourt .

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, The Archer of Mallard Lodge
