Hello all,

With just six weeks to go before the Lochmere Arrow Shoot being held at Dun Carraig's Baronial Birthday, I thought I would send out a few words.  First of all, this serves as your six week 'uhoh I forgot it was coming up this fast I better get moving' warning to get practicing  :).  As always this will be a 2-man team shoot to determine the winner of the beloved Lochmere Arrow.  Any 2-man team may feel free to shoot and have fun and enjoy what will hopefully be a very fun day, but to vie for the title both members of the team must belong to the same barony/shire/local group.   Other than that, no restrictions on who the 2 team members may be.

Master Jonathas and I, having come close to winning the year prior and winning last year, talked alot about what we liked so much abut the Lochmere Arrow shoot in general, and both agree wholeheartedly that there were two things that really set this shoot apart from most others throughout the year.  One is the whole, winners defend so to win the title you have to beat the current titleholders.  But the most important thing was the teamwork aspect.  As such, our shoot is going to feature and play up this side of the concept as much as possible.  This will NOT be a shoot where the 2 teammates shoot the targets, add their 2 scores together and have the team score.  At every target possible, most likely all of them, there will be something about the scoring, the way it is shot, the strategies, etc. that make the teammates have to work TOGETHER to get a competitive score.

So, in summation, I would not wait until two days prior or the morning of when you show up to choose your teammate, although you are more than welcome to if you wish  .  A truly competitive team will need to make sure they are familiar with each other and their shooting, and more importantly, communicate and work together well, so pick your partner and get to work.  We want a very competitive shoot with as many teams as possible giving each other a run for the title.

Good luck to all and more importantly have fun!

Yours In Service,
Lord Karl von Konigsberg

P.S.:  There is a Facebook event page for this shoot created today, and this will be posted there as well.  Additionally, I will be using that method as well as this list to distribute any other updates or info that becomes necessary as the date approaches.  The event page is public, so feel free to invite yourself or anyone else that isn't already.
