I have to agree with Siegried on this question.  While i'm not in favor of suddenly having masses of extremely non-period looking bows on the range, I'm conpletely in favor of getting as many archers out there as possible.  And if the first will help accomplish the second, then so be it.  Until these bows prove to be a safety hazard, we shouldn't be talking about banning them.   

I also think that these bows wil prove to be "steppingstone bows".  Once you've been shooting one for awhile, you'll want to move up!  In the same way that I started with a fibreglass bow and cheap sporting good's store arrows and "moved up" to wood and arrows specifically sized and fletched for me and my bow. 

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!  However, I would hope that Marshals will be given some guidelines for inspecting these bows, to insure that they continue to be safe on the range.
