This really makes me wish I was going this year. Not happening, but I can certainly contribute towards the cause.

So Lady Lorelei, put this out there awhile ago and I think it fell off our plate. I think this is a great idea and we should try to donate a pop-up from Atlantia. I just got one for Amy and I from BJ’s and they are around $200 for the good EZ-Up. If anyone would like to donate to the cause I would be willing to get the shade and deliver it to Lord Godric when we get to Pennsic. There are enough of us that $5 or $10 each would cover one. Subject: Sunshades PennsicUnto the esteemed archery communities of the Kingdoms of Aethelmearc, Atlantia, Ealdomere and the Middle does Lord Godric of Hamtun, Captain General of Archers of the East, send greetings. For Pennsic, I would like to see small sun shades at each range so that line marshals and some of the populace may retreat from the sun from time to time. I believe this will give greater joy, health and well-being to everyone on the range. That will, in turn, encourage more archers and marshals to come to the range. Sadly, the Pennsic Archery budget does not allow for that this year, or likely for years to come. To that end…I have a request or challenge (whichever give me greater results!) for the mightiest archery communities at Pennsic. I challenge each of you to provide a small sunshade to be given to Pennsic Archery for use by marshals and populace. If it pleases your people to decorate the sunshade, their efforts would be most welcome.By small, I think something along the lines of 10 x 10 or 12 x 12 or so would be best. A mundane sunshade would probably be easiest. We would only need a top for the sunshade, walls would be unnecessary. You are welcomed and encouraged to decorate the sunshade in any SCA appropriate way you like, though decorations aren’t necessary.I am sending this challenge to the East Kingdom archery community as well. I will personally provide extra heavy duty stakes for the sunshades. I suspect these sunshades would be funded by individuals rather than from your Kingdom's coffers. If the archers of your kingdom wish to fund the sunshade via a bake sale, I will happily purchase $5 worth of cookies. But, since shipping cookies would be bothersome, please give my cookies your archery marshals as a thank you for their hard work.If it would please you, I would be willing to express the thanks of the Pennsic archery community at your kingdom’s court at PennsicYours in serviceLord Godric of HamtunCaptain General of Archers, East Kingdom
