I actually have some carpet filled targets.  We used to use themas our Baronial ones until someone donated some Saunders ones. Thought I'd pass this along....don't know if anyone has heard of homemade Saunders mats.  I'd just use bales of hay.

There is a gentle in a neighboring Kingdom that is looking to make his own Saunders Mat type target (purchasing one is cost prohibitive)...
I have never heard of anyone I know making their own round target like that, but it seems long ago I vaguely remember someone talking about this very thing?
 
Has anyone out there ever made, or heard of one being made?  A preliminary google search did not turn up anything.
