Serena, thank you for your good thoughts! Yes, it takes many people to pull off an event like this. I'm saving this email, because I believe you just raised your hand. :-)

Thank you!
Lorelei

Subject: [Archers] Known World Archery Event

We went to the Known World Heraldic and Scribal Symposium in North Carolina back in June. Having a Known World Archery Event would be neat.

I personally agree that it should be archery only. I know far too many folks who attended the KWHSS and afterwards stated that it should have been one or the other, but having them both combined just didn't work out very well. There were too many people who wanted to deal with both, and too many classes they wanted to take that were at the same time because of it. So having it archery only I personally think would work best.

I won't give any input on where might be good to have it, because I'm not one of the large archery folks who would be able to help with that sort of decision.

I wouldn't be able to teach any of the classes either, as I'm just not that far into things quite yet.

But I did want to put a bug in the ear of anyone who ends up doing this, that I have been an event reservationist many times, as well as head troll many times, (as well as a baronial exchequer) and I would be willing to help out with anything along those lines.

Serena

Hmmph, okay well before we undertook St. Sebastian’s I have been courting various pointy headed (crowns, coronets, etc) and non pointy headed folks who played long ago in the crusades to see if I could get one off the ground. Am still very much willing to tame this monster but it will take work on all of our parts and lots of coordination from a select few who are willing to take the lumps J I actually brought it up to Dougal and Godrick because I wanted to make it Atlantia vs …… and make it a big event.

I think we should limit it to archery only and not a marshal event for fighting, it will be enough to handle it as an archery event. Also we would need to overcome the dry site, cabins vs camping, yada yada yada issues I have been hearing as well. I wanted to hold it at the Baltimore Bowmen or a bowmen like site that will have all the room we need plus camping and is fairly central for our neighbors to the north and west.

LOL you guys are funny. Now, let's put the silliness away for a moment and think how we can pull off a known world archery event. It would be a big undertaking but one I know we can accomplish, given the talent and dedication of the Atlantian Archery Community.

Ideas?
