[Atlantia-Announce] Award recommendations needed for the Winter reign

Unto the citizens of Atlantia, Mistress Tannis of Tir-y-Don, Royal Secretary
for Prince Abram and Princess Anya, sends warm greetings.

 

As the days begin to grow shorter, the time for the winter reign approaches.
Their Highnesses, Prince Abran and Princess Anya are looking for good
gentles to honor during their reign. To that end they have asked me to relay
their wish for the citizens of Atlantia to search the kingdom for gentles to
honor.

 

It takes the eyes and ears of every citizen to ensure the Crown is able to
honor Atlantians that make this Kingdom strong. If you are about to write

questions and give you guidance about the recommendation process. It is also
helpful if you haven't written a recommendation in a while.

 

If you've written recommendations in the past, thank you for your efforts.
Please take a moment and review "Your Recommendations" and update them if
they are over 6 months old. Advise the Crown if the person is still active.
Have they continued their efforts? Done anything special since you first
wrote the recommendation? This is especially important for the Award of
Arms, Orders of Merit, Youth Awards, and Kingdom Awards.

 

When writing a recommendation to the Crown, if you know the candidate's
preference regarding being surprised or advised in advance, please put it in
capital letters at the top of the recommendation. Help the Crown be kind to
those they wish to honor. If you don't know the gentle's preference but have
a way for me to contact someone close to them, please put that information
in capital letters at the top of the recommendation. Please do not guess the
person's preference. Examples: NOBLE X PREFERS TO BE SURPRISED or CONTACT
HIS PEER, COUNTESS Y, FOR PREFERENCES at email at address.com or phone number.

 

The other bit of information that is helpful for the Crown; knowing when and
where they might find these good gentles. One of the best ways to keep the
Crown informed is by using the "Friends and Family" feature. When you create
a recommendation you have the option of list events the person will be
attending. Please, please, do not guess at this information. Only enter
events if you are absolutely sure they will attend. You can always update
the information as needed.

 

I recommend that every person in the kingdom set up an account for the Award
Recommendation page (https://award.atlantia.sca.org

"Friends and Family" feature to enter the events you plan to attend.
Entering this information is NOT asking for an award. The only time the
Crown will see your information is if someone submits a recommendation about
you. Until that day, only you will know what is in the system. (And if
you're wondering, why yes, I do keep my events updated as a courtesy to the
Crown.) You can also enter information for family, close friends, or
household. but only if you're absolutely certain they will be at an event.
No guessing, please!

 

Last, please take a moment and look around at your family, friends, and
acquaintances that you admire. Check their entry in the Order of Precedence
to see if they have the honors you think they have:
