Intergroup Scribal Smackdown

Any barony or shire wishing to participate may enter at least three but no more than five backlog scrolls. For the purposes of this competition a backlog scroll is defined as any award bestowed at Pennsic or prior that did not have a scroll prepared at the time. These scrolls must be duly assigned to the scribe(s) by the kingdom or baronial backlog deputy and work begun after Saturday, August 12, AS LII. It is preferred that as many scribes work on these entries as possible to show each group's breadth and depth of talent. No scribe can work on more than two entries in any combination of calligraphy and/or illumination.

Judging will be conducted per both standard Atlantian judging rules for calligraphy and illumination using a combined scoring method, judged by Laurels in those fields and such members of the Clerk Signet's staff as are in attendance and a second competition determined by a popular vote. For the purposes of scoring the top three scores from any group's set of entries will be considered.

Two prizes will be awarded, one for each judging format, to be provided by Baruna Sajah, issuer of the challenge. A third prize will be awarded for the barony with the highest score among Black Diamond, Ponte Alto, and Windmasters' Hill based on the reason for this challenge in the first place.
