[Atlantia-Announce] Canton of Attillium 17-18 Sep Ren Faire Demo Update

Greetings,
 
  If you are planning to attend the Canton of Attillium Ren Faire Demo on 17-18 Sept please read the following plannig updates.
 
- No outside alcohol, coolers or pets allowed! 
 
- You can arrive for set up anytime after noon on Friday 17 Sep.  If you need to arring earlier, please contact me.  Camping (period tent) is free.  Admission is free for this event.
 
- The official times for the Ren Faire are 10 AM to 6 PM, Sat 17 Sep and 10 AM to 5 PM, Sun 18 Sep.  The official SCA fighting demo times are two 1 hour blocks at 11 AM and 3 PM on Sat and Sun.  (Space available for all day fighter practice.)  A&S displays and Gold Key photo area are all day activities.  Invantation to period masque on Sat 5-6PM (The Masquerade Ball is period music with period style dances.  The dances can accommodate all who wish to participate as they are circle dances or line formations.  The dances were created from historic references however we have simplified them so that they may be taught to a large group in a short amount of time.  We do utilize "minstrels in a box" so that we are assured the music is the appropriate tempo however no modern music is played) 
  
-  Lastly the Smith Lake site address does not seem to work on GPS and Mapquest/Google, it takes you about 5 miles from the site, did the drive today at lunch.

Location:  Entrance is 1 mile outside of Fort Bragg on Hwy 210 (Murchison Road) near Simmons Army Airfield.  Effective June 13, 2011, Smith Lake Road off of Honeycutt Road will be closed for approximately 2 months.  Use the access road off of Murchison Road, Hwy 210.  View Murchsion Road Access Map. Seneschal, Canton of Attillium.GPS devices do not recognize Smith Lake Road. Please enter the following address: 6200 Murchison Road, Fayetteville, NC. At 6200 Murchison Road, turn onto Smith Lake Road for 1mile. Smith Lake Recreation Area office will be on the right hand side as you enter the park. Or, use this link to enter your starting address
